Per Johan started out shooting video when he joined the army in 1980. For more than 10 years he served as a para ranger in the Special Forces where he produced classified video and learned how to stay alive and hide in all kind of weather, often in severe conditions. After the army he started out making his living as a IT consultant, but he never abandoned his great passion, shoting video out in the wild! He spends much of his spare time out there. He enjoy staying out in all kind of weather. "There is no bad weather only poor feather (clothes)" he often declares! Per Johan likes every aspect of wildlife, making small films as seen on his website. But he has a special passion for birds. His aim is to get quality footage and sound of as many species of bird in his area as possible. Per Johan use equipment made for wildife with huge telephoto lenses and a sturdy and heavy tripod. A couple of shotgun mics for ambient sound is connected to his gear. Per Johan has provide footage for several broadcast companies, including Norwegian Broadcast Corporation (NRK) but his footage is also used in big screen movies at cinemas.
